The Japan Address Translator by LHK Service is a free database designed for international shippers, Japan proxy buyers, and Rakuten/Amazon Japan shoppers. It covers all 47 prefectures and over 124,788 town areas (町・字) with official Japanese-to-English Romaji translations and 7-digit postal codes (〒).
Japanese addresses follow a unique hierarchical structure: Prefecture → City/Ward → Town Area → Chome・Banchi・Go. Using this tool helps you avoid returned parcels, customs delays, and delivery failures caused by Kanji input errors, town name confusion, or postal code mismatches—especially when shipping via FedEx, UPS, DHL, Sagawa, or Yamato Transport (Kuroneko).
How to use: Select Prefecture → City to view all town areas with English translations and postal codes. Use the search box to filter results quickly. Data is sourced from Japan Post's official records.
